KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Shillyboy Mothiba

Shillyboy Mothiba is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Tax Practitioner by a profession. He graduated with both BCom and Higher Diploma in Financial Accounting and Taxation at Witwatersrand University. He completed his articles at KPMG Inc. (Jhb) where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He is currently enrolled for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Taxation at Witwatersrand University, also enrolled for a Professional Certificate in Estate and Trust Administration with Tax Faculty. In 2020, he completed a certificate in property development and investment through the University of Cape Town.

He co-founded INTERGEN, a wealth advisory company situated in Johannesburg where he is a Head of Tax. He is also a founder of THEEPA HOMES, a property development and investment company with a focus on the students’ accommodation and residential sectors.

He is also a member of Finance and Risk Committee at National Business Initiative. He also serves as a member of Fundraising and Membership committee at National Business Initiative.

He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa.

GUEST SPEAKER: Julian Pick

Julian Pick has over 30 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. A certified Professional Banker of the Institute of Bankers (SA) and hold various qualifications including an Honours Degree in Business Management as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management.

His current role is National Manager: Credit Sanctioning and Pricing, Absa: Home Loans. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in the financing of SME’s. A passionate individual, inspired by people and challenges thus developed a keen interest in the property sector.

Julian has strong leadership, interpersonal and his coaching skills has contributed to the success of high performing teams.

Strong attributes include leadership and credit risk management as well as attention to detail, which enables me to gain trust and influence. He leads a multi-skilled team with confidence as well as provide clear guidance, supervision and support to colleagues towards high performance. Instrumental in providing guidance to our policies regarding the financing of the retail property sector.

Venusha Naidoo – Regional Manager – Home Loans KZN

Born and raised in KZN, it’s my honor and privilege to lead our Absa Home Loans team in the province. I have been in the banking sector for the last 14 years, having joined the Absa Home Loans team in March 2020. Prior to joining the Absa Home Loans team in 2020, I was a part of the Relationship Banking (Private Bank and Business Bank) Team within Absa KZN leading over the Coastal region in KZN.

Bruno Simão Founding Attorney LLB (UNISA), Cert. Corporate Law (UNISA)

Bruno completed his LLB degree at UNISA, whilst simultaneously gaining exposure and experience in the legal field. After an invaluable term with Burden, Swart & Botha Attorneys in Brooklyn (Pretoria) from 2007 to 2011, Bruno founded Bruno Simão Attorneys in Sandton (Johannesburg) in 2012. Although his expertise ranges across the board to all facets of the firm’s areas of practice, Bruno’s expertise lies predominantly in dispute resolution, commercial and property law, which entails, amongst a range of other specialities, extensive engagement on investment strategy, planning, structuring, funding, and execution; as well as litigation/arbitration strategy and execution, including commercial and contractual disputes, enforcement orders, evictions, utility disconnections, and rental collections.

Bruno has contributed extensively to the modelling, education and skills development of property investors, offering specialised training on profiling, strategy, and risk management, and having both contributed to the training and acted in representation of a range of persons including entry-level investors to high-level corporates. He regularly presents (at international seminars, radio shows, and summits) and contributes articles on the topic, and has spearheaded Court cases that have developed and framed this area of law.

GUEST SPEAKER: Christiaan Jansen

Christiaan started his career at Absa Homeloans in 2005. He was headhunted to a large property investment group in 2007, where he honed his skills and interest in property investment, acting as a portfolio analyst and financing strategist. He has been investing in property since 2008 and is passionate about creative problem solving. He is the franchisee of At Threesixty Finance Menlyn, where he oversees primarily investors’ financing applications. He’s available for consultation on financing structuring on a one to one basis.

Christiaan Jansen has an astute mathematical ability and this has allowed for ease in number crunching and identifying approaches to optimising the numbers.  His primary engagements comprise of being a mortgage originator and serving as Ambassador to the BNI Tshwane region, where his portfolio comprises of providing training to fellow BNI members, to maximise their BNI experience. This has led to a wealth of knowledge in a variety of industries, equipping him with great empathy and a vast general knowledge.
Today, Christiaan is a finance specialist at three-sixty finance and his specialties include, Mortgage origination, Property Investment, Portfolio Planning and Property Coaching.
